Lifesavers Conference on Roadway Safety, Baltimore, MD

We started the week with traffic safety leaders and professionals from across the country for the 2026 Lifesavers Conference on Roadway Safety in Baltimore, MD!

On Monday, we were among eleven others who were honored to receive a 2026 NHTSA Public Service Award- a recognition of individuals and organizations who have achieved measurable results in reducing highway deaths and injuries.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude as this award reflects Christy King’s tireless efforts to pass Virginia House Bill 2475, also known as the Christopher King Seat Belt Law, which requires back-seat passengers to buckle up. Virginia State Police and VirginiaDMV credit this legislation as a key factor in a 15% reduction in traffic deaths during 2025 compared to 2024.

Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with us! We couldn't do it without you! Another one for you, Christopher. We love and miss you so much.
